Hello, my name is Eric.
I was a geologist working a corporate job and decided to leave the known for the unknown and open a woodshop in my garage. Why, you ask? Life is short. Too short in some cases. And I wanted to make the most of it while I could. My previous job wasn’t making me want to get up in the morning and I wanted to do something I wanted to do day-in and day-out.
Building things has been a hobby for a while and I would spend hours, days, weekends, holidays and vacation days in my “workshop” making things with my hands. I would spring out of bed early Saturday, don some overalls and head into the garage to build some random item I found on Pintrest.
It’s amazing how many people wanted things built for them, their kids, their friends, so I was able to convince my wife to leave the security of a weekly paycheck and enter into an endeavor which would change our lives (for the better or worse).
So now, here I am, heading into my garage every morning with a bounce in my step, from the coffee as much as the excitement, continuing to build items I love (and mostly find on Pintrest).
